The Dress

This is an amazing, totally unique bespoke gown by the famous bridal designer Allison Blake herself. The dress cost over £4,000 back in 1992! I fell in love with Allison's designs which frequently featured in wedding magazines due to the incredible attention to detail in each gown. I got married in Devon at Harvest Festival time with the church decorated with wildflowers and corn - hence the detail on the dress. The stunning teardrop-shaped train has weights underneath to enable it to move fluidly. The train was stored in a glass case so is absolutely pristine, however, the dress was cleaned immediately after the wedding and has been stored ever since in acidulated tissue and two boxes. There are some very minor flaws, slight discolourations in a couple of areas but are not noticeable, almost due to the look of the silk dupion itself. I am also including the short veil edged with scalloped lace and tiny pearls scattered across it. I would be so thrilled for another bride to feel as I did that day - truly beautiful. With the dress not being 'off the peg', people were awe-struck by it - it is 'truly a work of art'.
I live near Sheffield so would welcome anyone to come to see it and try it on. Anyone less busty than me could easily have it taken in and although floor-length on me, could be taken up to be mid-calf or even knee-length (the train could also be taken up from the 'dress end' without any of the teardrop being lost) and it would still be stunning as the pearls and the embroidery that are most definitely the stars! I was originally advised to list for £1,200 but have reduced it right down for someone on a small budget.
